Solutions eligible for procurement under the FCSA program also include service-enabling components such as user terminals, teleports, terrestrial connectivity and value-added services for warfighter capabilities, and the provision of military X-band and UHF services as well as commercial C, Ku , Ka and L-band satellite communication services.
COMSAT was named an awardee under the Complex Commercial SATCOM Solutions (CS3) contract with the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA). This ten-year, multiple-award Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (ID/IQ) contract has a maximum value of $2.5 billion. Under the program, COMSAT will provide advanced commercial SATCOM solutions to government users worldwide in support of multiple types of requirements, such as Interactive Services; Continuity of Operations (COOP); Broadcast Satellite Services; Direct Customer, Steady State, and Emergency Responder Operations; and Fleet & Asset Tracking and Reporting Services.
The Future COMSATCOM Services Acquisition (FCSA) represents a joint initiative by the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) and the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA), for the government procurement of satellite communications capability from an approved list of vendors.
Federal, state, and local governments rely on commercial satellite communications to maintain essential and secure communications where no wire line or wireless infrastructure exists. COMSAT offers the full portfolio of Inmarsat, Iridium and Thuraya products and services through its FCSA contract.
